  1. (Silvério Soares)I don´t agree from the eighteenth century, the texts in a foreign language become the object of study, the
version exercises / grammar are to replace the previous form of education that stemmed from
sentences taken from the mother tongue. It is with this teaching model as the century
XVIII attend the consecration of the "grammar-translation method" more commonly
    called "traditional" or "classic."
The traditional approach, historically, the first and oldest method was used to
teaching the classical languages like Greek and Latin. Germain et al. (1993) cited by Cestaro
(2003) says it is the conception of teaching Latin, a dead language, considered as a discipline
mental, necessary for the formation of the spirit that will serve as a model to language teaching
alive. The objectives of this methodology in force until the early twentieth century, was to
convey an understanding of the language, allowing access to literary texts and a
field of normative grammar. It proposed the translation and the version as a basis for
understanding of the language being studied. The dictionary and grammar book were therefore
    useful tools work

  2. I agree. The apredizagem is not subject to rules or theories. But the driving range equivalent to the level of knowledge and Difficulty of the student. In the use of a translation method Focused only on rules of grammar. A text, for example, translated word for word, maybe not following rules be understood. Already one in which not be translated literally, it is quite understandable. The ideal method is that use all the skills without Following the rules.
